Research Title: Development of Total Building Performance Assessment System for Office Buildings
The study aims to formulate a holistic objective measure that amalgamates the various building performance indicators. The Total Building Performance concept is adopted as the basic framework to develop an integrated index for assessment of the overall performance of office buildings. The assessment framework is underpinned by seven performance mandates namely: Thermal Performance, Visual Performance, Acoustic Performance, Indoor Air Quality, Spatial Performance, Building Integrity, Safety, and Security. Within each of these mandates, basic attributes and features are identified as key performance indicators for assessment of the mandates.
In order to determine the weights of the performance mandates and the corresponding performance indicators, an expert survey was carried out to establish the ratings and priorities to be placed on the performance parameters. A scoring curve is also proposed to assess the performance of the performance indicators
